COAL CITY SCHOOLS CRACKING DOWN ON RESIDENCY

The Coal City School District is taking a hard line on its residency requirements, after discovering that 6 students who attended Coal City schools, actually lived in other districts. Those 6 students… according to district officials… cost Coal City taxpayers more than $75,000…. money that will never be recouped in local property taxes. Violators of teh residency rule, if caught, can be charged with fraud, and fines can be as much as $1,500.
